FAQ

WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE LOCATED?

Our office is located in Oxford, Mississippi, at 224 County Road 303; better known as Old Taylor Road.

It is conveniently located to most areas of the Mid-South. Our office is a previous home that we have converted into an office, so no cold “office feel.”

We strive to offer you warmth and comfort immediately upon entering our doors.

HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL SESSON?

Our sessions typically range from one hour to an hour and a half. We also offer intensive sessions for couples that range from a half day to two days.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE? HOW DO I PAY?
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance and Mississippi State and School Employees (AHS) Insurance. Unfortunately, Insurance companies do not consider “marriage counseling” to be medically necessary and therefore will not reimburse for marriage or couples therapy.

For other insurance, we are considered “out of network.” For these we can provide monthly statements which you can use to file for reimbursement with your insurance for “out of network” services.

Please note that we do not file secondary insurances. Polices vary in their coverage. If you have questions about your individual benefits, please contact your insurance company for coverage, services, and deductibles.

We accept all major credit cards, health savings plans, and checks as forms of payment.

HOW DO I MAKE AN INITIAL APPOINTMENT?

We offer a free phone consultation. At the end of the consultation, we will schedule you an appointment with one of our counselors.

If you have a specific counselor in mind, please let us know. Otherwise, we will make a recommendation for someone we believe will be a good match for you.

The easiest way to reach us is to call (662) 202-7332. If we are in session, please leave a voicemail; and we will return your call as soon as possible.

If you prefer, you may also text us at (662) 202-7332 or email us at inquiries@wrightcounselinggroup.com to schedule an appointment.

DO YOU OFFER VIDEO OR PHONE SESSIONS?

Yes. Several of our therapists are Telehealth Providers, which means they are certified to provide video conference therapy sessions.

While this can be a convenience, you should be aware that these sessions are not typically covered by insurance.

HAVE YOU BEEN IN THERAPY YOURSELF?

YES! Therapists are human, too. Our policy is that we will never ask you to do anything we haven’t done ourselves on the other side of the fence.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU?

You can reach us by phone at (662) 202-7332.

Please know that because we believe in your confidentiality, we do not have a receptionist. Therefore, you may get a voicemail when you call. Please leave a message, and a counselor will call you back as soon as possible.

If you prefer, you may also text at (662) 202-7332 or email us at inquiries@wrightcounselinggroup.com.

WHAT KINDS OF PEOPLE DO YOU WORK WITH?

Our practice prides itself on working with all genders, ages, ethnicities, and religions.

DO YOU OFFER SERVICES FOR SAME SEX COUPLES?

Absolutely. From the very beginning, Wright Counseling Group has been for all couples. Our counselors are sensitive to the unique challenges that gay and lesbian couples face and have a well-established track record of helping with their relationships.

IS OUR WORK CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes. Anything that comes in our office stays in our office. The only exceptions are if we believe that someone is planning to hurt themselves or someone else. Should that occur, we are required by law to report that to the proper authority.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THE FIRST SESSION?

We know that coming to a first counseling session and talking with someone you’ve never met can be anxiety-ridden…. Even if you’ve been to counseling before.

Therefore, our goals during your first session are: 1) To get as much of “your story” as we can. 2) To create some comfort for you, so you can walk out feeling less anxious that when you walked in. 3) To make a plan for how we can best help you.

CAN I GET A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE OF POSSIBLE FEES?

Absolutely!  When you decide to make an appointment you will receive a good faith estimate as part of your initial paperwork.  Keep in mind your exact charges will depend on which of our counselors you will be seeing, if you want to use your insurance and your individual financial circumstances.  It’s best to contact us with any questions.

In the meantime, here’s a general good faith estimate for you to view.

You are entitled to receive this “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services from the provider listed, nor does it include any services that may be recommended during treatment to you that are not identified here.
YOUR INSURANCE: We only accept and file Blue Cross Blue Shield and Mississippi State Employees Insurance policies. If you have a different insurance company, we would be considered “out of network” for those companies. We can provide you with an invoice to self file, however, your policy may not cover any or only part of the fee we charge. Your policy may also have deductibles that must be met before any reimbursement. Some of our counselors are licensed as Provisional Licenced Professional Counselors by the State of Mississippi. Charges by Provisional Counselors are normally NOT reimbursable by insurance. If you have any questions ask your counselor or contact our billing manager at 662-816-8685.
This Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or a prediction that you may need to attend a specified number of psychotherapy visits. The number of visits that are appropriate in your case, and the estimated cost for those services, depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with your therapist. You are entitled to disagree with any recommendations made to you concerning your treatment and you may discontinue treatment at any time.
The fee for a psychotherapy visit will depend on the individual therapist you are seeing.
The fee for a 60 minute psychotherapy visit with a Licensed Professional Counselor (in person or via telehealth) is $185.00.
The fee for a 60 minute psychotherapy visit with a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (in person or via telehealth) is $125.00.
Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than one per week, depending on your needs. Based on this session fee above, the following are estimated charges of psychotherapy services:
Estimates are based on one session per week. These rates are based on client paying out of pocket for all charges and do not include any insurance reimbursement. We only accept Blue Cross Blue Shield Policies.
1 Week of Service $185.00
13 Weeks of Service (3 Months) $2405.00
26 Weeks of Service (6 Months) $4810.00
52 Weeks of Service (12 Months) $9620.00

1 Week of Service $125.00

You have the right to dispute a bill if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges). Initiating the dispute process will not adversely affect the quality of services rendered to you. You may contact the health care provider or facility listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can ask them to update the bill, ask them to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available. You may also start a dispute resolution process with the US Department of Health and Human Services. If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill. There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you, you will have to pay the higher amount. To learn more and get a form to start the process go to www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at 800-368-1019. Keep a copy of this Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or take pictures of it. You may need it if you are billed a higher amount. You are encouraged to speak with your provider at any time about any questions you may have regarding your charges or the information provided to you in this Good Faith Estimate.
WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT US?

We base our counseling on the idea that we are all created for connection. We believe that the relationships in our lives are essential to healthy, happy living.

Even the issues you may be having as an individual are the result of unhealthy or broken relationships with the people around you. Sometimes the pain comes from the lack of relationships and connection in your life.

Our unique and specialized experience will help you be able to feel connected to yourself and to others in a more healthy and productive way.

DO YOU OFFER CHRISTIAN COUNSELING?

All of our counselors are going to take every aspect of your life into account. If your faith is an integral part of your life, then it is important to us. We will always incorporate that as a component of your therapy.

We will never dismiss any part of your life that is important to you.

DO I HAVE TO LIE ON A COUCH AND TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER?

It’s really not how you see it on TV. We don’t own a couch, and it might be your father’s fault instead of your mother’s. LOL!

You’ll have your choice of comfy chairs in our office.

DOGS OR CATS?

As therapists, you would expect us to love all creatures.
